Alzheimer's Disease affects thought, memory and language. It is a rare family that doesn't know or perhaps have someone suffering from Alzheimer's disease. Caring for Alzheimer's patients is challenging. Forest Pharmaceuticals has provided material to help both caregivers and people suffering from Alzheimer's. The "In It Together" series has both brochures as well as the "Alzheimer's Activity Guide". The brochures cover topics such as what to expect in the disease process, ways to find resources for patients and advice for caregivers. The Alzheimer's Activity Guide has hundreds of suggested activities for patients in any stage of the disease. There are also copies of a VHS tape, called Memory Lane, that can help trigger memories of and conversations about significant family events such as marriages, vacations, birthdays, etc. Some of the material is available in Spanish.
